After racing through a bouncy obstacle course and walking circles around my old high school, I went to a late dinner with my girlfriend and her family at the White Spot in Kerrisdale.

For me, White Spot is one of my favourite places to eat simply because they consistently produce good quality food. And the service… it’s pretty good for the most part. Our hostess was friendly and our waitress was quick – perhaps too quick. Maybe it was because we came close to closing time, but it looked like the waitress was itching to get our orders. Oh well, she was still nice :)

Anyway, before I even walked through those glass doors, I already knew what I wanted to order:

Spaghetti & Meatballs!

I’ve seen the commercials where it’s advertised as “comfort food,” which it is since it’s hot, simple and yummy. The thing is, I don’t usually like ordering pasta when I go out because I know that I can make it myself. However, I have yet to learn how to make meatballs… so, there I sat at White Spot!

I was originally going to post a picture of how the dish looked like on the menu… But when the pasta arrived, I realised that I didn’t have to! Why? Because it looked exactly like the picture :)

Of course, I waited until everyone got their dishes before I started eating. Still, it wasn’t long until I was slurping up the last lonely noodle. The sauce was okay – nothing extraordinary – but, the meat balls were surprising. They were nicely spiced and moist, and more importantly: not overly salty, unlike many other places.
Overall, the dish was a hit :) I would recommend this to anyone who’s looking for an uncomplicated meal that is belly-and-tongue satisfying for 12 bucks.
