With every trip, there will be one or two things that define the whole experience. This was one of them: Bibble & Sip. Sorry Vancouverites – this is in New York.
It was destiny that led me to Bibble & Sip. Sorta. Shrimpo had recommended it to me way before I even boarded the plane. But I totally stumbled upon it on one of my photoshooting adventures in the city.
My first actual encounter with Bibble & Sip was on Facebook, where there was a video of these cream-packed puffs being cracked opened and eaten upside down. I would link the video, but Business Insider prevents me from even viewing it because I have AdBlock installed. HMPH!
There were two cream puffs in the display case: Matcha and Earl Grey. Obvi I got both. Otherwise, hippoCHAN and I would’ve had to split one…
It had a crisp exterior, similar to a pineapple bun, but more crackling factor.
Awwwww yissssss…! Flip it over and crack it open. Then rip off some of the puff, then dip it in the cream. If you love matcha, you’ll love Bibble & Sip. The flavour was matcha magnified.
While the matcha was delicious, hippoCHAN and I preferred the Earl Grey – I think because we grew up around a lot of matcha, so we’re quite accustomed to it. The earl grey cream puff tasted like the london fog ice cream from Earnest or Rain or Shine; but like the matcha cream puff, magnified flavour.
You can see hippoCHAN scraping some earl grey cream off the box… no waste.
Bibble & Sip, please move to Vancouver. Beard Papa sucks.
