Every time I visit New York, I always see a mega line up at Shake Shack. Seriously mega, like in-n-out of the restaurant. And every time I wonder, is it really worth it?

Thankfully, there are many locations in NYC. The Grand Central Terminal didn’t have such a big line and the food was served reasonably quick.

You can kinda guess what Shake Shack serves based on its logo – burgers! Although, Shake Shack actually started off as a hot dog cart in 2001.

hippoCHAN and I both ordered the SmokeShack – cheeseburger with all-natural smoked Niman Ranch bacon, chopped cherry pepper and ShackSauce. For the patty, Shake Shack uses Angus beef without any hormones or antibiotics. We got a single patty ($6.84), but you can double it up as well ($9.64)

I’ve only had one Shake Shack burger in my life, and I’m pretty sure this one is my favourite on the menu. Dat bacon made all the difference. The patty was moist and flavourful as well. Definitely not an every day, or even weekly, meal since it gives a salty punch. But totally satisfied my craving for something so bad for you.

The fries were also bomb. Each fry was audibly crunchy. My only gripe with the fries was that they were too salty, even more than the burger. I ended up tapping the fry on the box to shake off the excess salt.

All in all, I would definitely return to Shake Shack. But I wouldn’t stand outside in the cold for it LOL.

… PS, this post was so difficult to write because I kept typing Shack Shake. Or Shake Shake…
