Hello there & Welcome to Foodobyte!
I’m Curtis, a Dietetics Major at the University of British Columbia, which is ironic because pizzas and fries were the staple foods of my high school diet. After discovering that girls aren’t particularly fond of flabby slobs, I started to work out: began running outside, joined YMCA and then continued to run inside YMCA along with pumping some iron. Around this time, I also realised that I didn’t want to continue eating nasty junk because it only made it harder to achieve the rock hard six pack I always wanted (and still do).
So, I started to pay more attention to the food I eat and here I am today: Studying nutrition. It truly is a fascinating field that is continuously growing. With new research and health claims popping up everywhere, it’s quite difficult to discern what is reliable. Consequently, I’m setting out to explore and report on current health topics that interest me, and then post them on this blog!
Aside from learning about health and nutrition, I also love to venture out into the city and try new restaurants! So I hope to visit as many food places as my jelly belly can handle and write about my experiences: everything from the colour of the door to the uproarious kitchen… one byte @ a time.

Hip hip hello!
I’m Joanne, or hippoCHAN as you may know from this blog. I’m an Optometry student at the State University of New York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of British Columbia. As my nickname implies, I am a HUGE food lover. When I’m not out on foodie adventures with Foodobyte, I’m often behind the scenes spell-checking Foodobyte’s freshly typed out posts.
Some other things that I love are sea otters, old school Nintendo, and the Loch Ness Monster (yes, I truly believe it is real and will one day prove its existence to the world). Alas, no monster can trump my love to constantly fill my belly with delicious food. Without further ado, the hungry hippo must now venture out to grab some more yummy bytes.
Hip hip and out!
